Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Results Not Seen by Many Citizens

November 30, 2012

Judicial performance evaluation results published by the new Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission (JPEC) were not seen by many Utah citizens, the JPEC reports. For the first time, the Lieutenant Governor’s Office did not send the voter information pamphlet to all registered voters. Instead, those interested in receiving a hard copy were asked to return a postcard or call the office, and of the 930,000 postcards mailed, only 25,000 were returned requesting a copy. All of the judges on the ballot in Utah were retained with approximately 80 percent of the vote.
