District of Connecticut: Employment Protocols Adopted District-Wide
On November 21, 2013, the Clerk’s Office of the District of Connecticut issued a Notice that the Initial Discovery Protocols for Employment Cases would be implemented district wide for all applicable cases. The protocols apply to all new cases filed on or after December 1, 2012, for cases assigned to Judges Hall, Chatigny, Thompson, Arterton, Underhill, Bryant, Shea, and Haight. If the initial discovery protocols do not apply, the plaintiff is responsible for filing such a statement no later than seven days after the initial filing of the notice. The protocols were developed at the direction of the Civil Rules Advisory Committee by a diverse group of employment lawyers, with the assistance of IAALS. They are intended to guide parties toward more efficient and targeted discovery.
