Chapter 1 of Textbook Intro to International Transactions

This particular reading addresses the expectations and goals of the International Business Negotiations Course at the Washington College of Law at American University. The reading makes clear the four goals of the program: 1) to introduce students to the practice of business transactional law, 2) to provide negotiations training in the context of business transactional practice, 3) to enable students to apply the knowledge you have acquired in your prior legal education to a “real” business transaction, and 4) to further develop students’ practical legal skills. The chapter also sets forth what students should expect by participating within the course.
