Law-Firm Competency Models and Student Professional Success
This article was used as part of the "What Core Competencies Do Entry Level Lawyers Need?" session at the 2nd Annual Educating Tomorrow's Lawyers Conference, entitled Connecting the Academy and the Profession. It examines empirical evidence on the core competencies that attorneys need, both at the beginning of their careers and beyond. It also analyzes the evidence regarding these core competencies and proposes different ways law schools and students can ensure that they are learned before graduation.
