Paper: Implementing FLER - Family Law with Skills

Professors Andrew Schepard and Herbie DiFonzo created the Family Law with Skills course at Hofstra University in response to the Family Law Education Reform Project Report’s finding that law schools were not adequately producing practice-ready family law attorneys. The course works to combine classroom learning, courtroom experience (through observation), and simulation exercises to hone practice skills. The article, written by the professors, describes the rationale, structure, challenges, and successes of implementing the course.
