First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the passing of Sandra Day O’Connor, whose commitment to the pursuit of a fair and impartial judiciary was not only evident in her groundbreaking career but also in her collaboration with us on the crucial issue of judicial selection. Her dedication to the principles of justice and the rule of law has left an indelible mark on our organization, and we’re committed to carrying on her legacy. You can read our tributes to her below.
And, as we look back on 2023, IAALS is grateful for the unwavering dedication of our partners and colleagues. The year has seen advancements from every angle, and IAALS has made several key inroads in our pursuit of practical and innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges facing our justice system. In addition, our Board of Advisors was bolstered by six distinguished individuals joining the ranks, each bringing diverse perspectives and expertise that will guide and shape our work. And, a multitude of thought leaders and stakeholders from across sectors and industries joined our convenings and working group meetings to develop recommendations for moving this critical work forward, together.
As we approach the holiday season, all of us here at IAALS wish you a restorative and joyful time with your loved ones. We eagerly anticipate continuing our important work together and making even greater strides in the new year.
