New Jersey: Judicial Pension Question on Ballot

A November ballot measure will ask voters whether the constitution should be amended to allow an increase in judges’ contributions to their pensions and other benefits. In a recent 3-2 decision, the supreme court ruled that such an increase was a reduction in judges’ pay in violation of constitutional protections.
