On June 22 and 23, 2012, IAALS hosted a two-day Summit on e-discovery, including separate sessions for practitioners and state court judges.

On Friday, June 22, DISH Network L.L.C. co-sponsored a “Best in Class” eDiscovery Summit for practitioners. The Summit featured nationally recognized experts on e-discovery from around the country and included in-depth discussion on topics ranging from understanding clients’ electronically stored information (ESI) to the realities of applying cooperation, transparency and proportionality in litigation. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly regarding the caliber of panelists and diversity of perspectives. While this was an inaugural event, we hope to make this a yearly event that stands out as the best in its class of e-discovery summits in the country.

On Saturday, June 23, IAALS presented a state court judges-only eDiscovery Boot Camp, co-sponsored by the Colorado State Court Administrator’s Office. This educational summit for state court judges provided a basic training for judges on ESI in litigation, from preservation and collection to discovery motions and cooperation. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one judge commenting, “Overall, one of the best seminars for me in many years. Provocative, stimulating and enlightening.”
