John Moye Honored with National Award for Civic Service

January 15, 2016

John Moye, IAALS co-founder and Board of Advisors member, was recently honored with the coveted National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion Award. The award is given to an individual who helps NASS advance the causes of elections, civic education, and service to state government, and has a commitment to giving. John’s law firm, Moye White, is also an active member organization of the IAALS Law Firm Council.

Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams bestowed the award at the close of 2015 and cited John’s outstanding service and dedication to the Secretary of State’s office over the years.

John proved instrumental in helping the Colorado Secretary of State’s office transition after the death of Secretary of State Vikki Buckley in 1999 and the appointment of the Arapahoe County Clerk Donetta Davidson to the post. Since that time, John has chaired the secretary’s Business Advisory Committee, which provides critically important expertise and advice to the secretary in matters involving business and non-profit filings. In presenting the award, Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams said:

“John Moye has been a steadfast and effective advocate for six secretaries of state.”

The Medallion Award is the latest in an impressive list of accolades for John, whose storied career IAALS is proud to showcase. Congratulations, John!
