A Legacy of Vision and Impact: Honoring the Gates Frontiers Fund
On April 23, IAALS gathered with longtime partners, colleagues, and friends to honor the Gates Frontiers Fund, whose early belief in our mission helped bring IAALS to life. As our founding donor—with the visionary generosity of Charles C. Gates and Diane Gates Wallach—they have played a foundational role in making IAALS what it is today.
From the beginning, they saw what was possible: a justice system that works for everyone. They believed in the power of bold ideas and trusted in IAALS’ ability to turn those ideas into lasting solutions. Their early investment didn’t just launch an organization, it sparked a movement for justice system reform that continues to grow across the country.
At a special gathering in IAALS' home at the University of Denver, John Moye Hall, we dedicated a permanent commemorative wall in recognition of their extraordinary support. The tribute serves as both a celebration of their legacy and a reminder that transformative progress like this isn’t possible without visionary partners.
As we reflect on all we've accomplished, we’re also reminded that the work is far from over. IAALS’ ability to lead change—independently, impactfully, and innovatively—continues to depend on those who share our belief in a justice system that serves everyone.
We are profoundly grateful to the Gates Frontiers Fund and to every supporter who helps carry this mission forward.
