IAALS Celebrates 20th Anniversary Kickoff with DU Celebration
On January 14th, IAALS gathered partners and friends at the University of Denver to celebrate our twentieth anniversary. IAALS was founded in January 2006 with a bold idea: that justice could be more accessible, fair, and trustworthy. Twenty years later, that vision has become a movement, carried forward by leaders, partners, and supporters who believe in something better.
We kicked off our year of celebration at John Moye Hall, our home on the University of Denver campus. As we look forward to the urgent work ahead at our Forum on the Future of Civil Justice in April and our Vision 2040 Summit in October, it only made sense to celebrate twenty years of accomplishments right where it all began.
IAALS started with the bold vision of our founders that a research institute, independently situated and intently focused on the advancement of the American legal system, could drive justice system change on a national scale. Over the last twenty years, IAALS has done just that. We have grown into a nationally and internationally recognized research institute known for jumpstarting justice innovation to ensure that the promise of justice for all is a reality for everyone. That work and impact is not possible in a silo. IAALS exists because of the people and partners who do not accept the status quo, who believe in and envision a justice system that works for everyone, and are working tirelessly to unlock innovations that make our civil justice system more just.
From university partners to longtime supporters and board members, the celebration brought together many of the people who make the work we do possible. IAALS is an independent research institute that relies on individuals and organizations to join us in our work to make the civil justice system more just. This work requires all hands on deck, and we could not do it without their, and your, support.
For two decades IAALS has produced evidence-based research, convened leaders and experts, and aided institutions and organizations in implementing our recommendations to improve how people access justice. The challenges of today are different, but the focus and determination IAALS brings towards solving them is stronger than ever. We are dedicated to an anniversary year that is celebratory, but also impactful. Through our events and work over the coming year, we will chart a path that continues to drive justice system reform forward, together.
