Barbara Arnold rejoined New Mexico's Judiciary as the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission (JPEC) Program Manager in February 2022. Barbara worked previously with the New Mexico courts as Drug Court Program Manager in 2014 and as Court Executive Officer for the Eighth Judicial District Court from 2015–2019, establishing successful treatment court programs and implementing structural and operational improvements in northeastern New Mexico courts.
Barbara has enjoyed a long career in public service and leadership working with NMDOH Public Health in Health Promotion and community infrastructure development in Taos County for a decade, then recently managing a statewide children's health program for two years that coincided with COVID-19 and included pandemic management. An alumna of Teach for America (California) Bay Area, Barbara has taught in public institutions from elementary school to universities and is passionate about social justice and system improvement. A 30-year resident of Taos, Barbara is an avid skier and hiker and is loving her new role with New Mexico's judicial performance program and the dedicated commissioners who conduct evaluations for our esteemed judicial officers.
Barbara is a former member of IAALS' JPE 2.0 Task Force.
