Florida Supremes face political battle to keep jobs
July 20, 2012
Groups formed to support and oppose the retention of three supreme court justices are expected to run television spots and newspaper ads as the November election nears. “Restore Justice 2012” is targeting the justices for their role in removing a proposed constitutional amendment regarding federal health care from the 2010 ballot. At least two political committees—“Democracy at Stake” and “Defend Justice from Politics”—have formed to defend the justices. Because these committees have operated only online to date, they are not required to disclose their contributors.
