O'Connor Advisory Committee Welcomes Two New Members

February 21, 2013

The Quality Judges Initiative is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the ranks of the O'Connor Advisory Committee—Professor Talbot "Sandy" D'Alemberte and Professor Keith Swisher. D'Alemberte is President Emeritus of Florida State University and a professor at the College of Law. He has served as president of both the American Bar Association and the American Judicature Society, and, as a state legislator in the late 1960s and early 1970s, he was instrumental in the 1972 adoption of merit selection for Florida's appellate judges. Swisher is Associate Dean of Scholarship and Associate Professor of Law at Phoenix School of Law. He founded and edits The Judicial Ethics Forum, a blog that encourages an academic discussion of judicial ethics, discipline, and disqualification.

We are thrilled that Sandy and Keith will be contributing their expertise and experience to the O'Connor Advisory Committee, and we look forward to working with them as we pursue the mission of the Quality Judges Initiative.
