We Need Your Vote: Award for the Center for Out-of-Court Divorce
We are reaching out to encourage you—as a supporter of our work—to vote! Recently, the Center for Out-of-Court Divorce, together with IAALS at the University of Denver, was honored to be a nominee for the 2017 American Bar Association Louis M. Brown Award for Legal Access.
As a nominee of the Brown Award, we are also in the running for Brown Select, which will be presented to the nominee that gets the most votes from the general public through online voting.
IAALS launched the Resource Center for Separating and Divorcing Families (RCSDF) at the University of Denver and it grew from a pilot project into the Center for Out-of-Court Divorce (COCD). The COCD works in partnership with the legal system, leveraging interdisciplinary services and empowering parents going through a divorce to work together toward positive outcomes for their family. The model coordinates a package of services including: therapy, financial counseling, legal education, mediation, court filing, and a court-sanctioned final hearing with an onsite judge.
Voting is now open and closes at noon CST on Tuesday, January 10, 2017.
We hope that we may count on your vote as well as help spreading the word. Please forward this communication to any and all. Thank you.
