The Sedona Conference® Updates Resources for the Judiciary

The Sedona Conference® has updated its Resources for the Judiciary, a reference manual for judges that is “intended to assemble and promote a variety of proven judicial management tools to help parties develop and execute appropriate, cost-effective, cooperative discovery plans; avoid unnecessary discovery disputes; and resolve discovery disputes that may arise in a fair and expeditious manner.” The manual offers existing literature on e-discovery for judges and general recommendations, and then walks through twenty different “stages of litigation from the judge’s perspective.” The website will also include a special password-protected area exclusively for judges to allow for free and open collaboration among judges. The resource offers useful strategies to assist state and federal judges in the management of litigation involving the discovery of electronically stored information (ESI).
