Southern District of New York Complex Civil Case Management Project Extended
December 18, 2012
Approximately one year ago, on November 1, 2011, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York implemented a Pilot Project Regarding Case Management Techniques for Complex Civil Cases. The pilot project, which arose out of the federal bar’s concerns regarding the high cost of litigating complex cases, applies to a defined set of complex cases and focuses on best practices of complex civil case management. The project was initially implemented for a period of 18 months. The Board of Judges has now extended the pilot project for an additional eighteen months, to expire September 30, 2014.
