Melissa Swain earned a B.A. in 1998 from College of the Holy Cross and a J.D. in 2006 from the University of Miami School of Law.
Prior to returning to the University of Miami School of Law to work in the Health Rights Clinic, she was the Public Benefits Staff Attorney at Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center in Miami.
Prior to law school, she worked as a community organizer with Americorps and a paralegal with Greater Boston Legal Services. She is the author of Helping Haiti in the Wake of Disaster: Law Students as First Responders (with JoNel Newman), 6 Inter. Hum. Rights L. Rev. 133 (2011).
