IAALS, the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System, is seeking input from business leaders as part of our study of the legal needs of U.S. businesses.
What is the US Justice Needs Business Study?
IAALS is conducting a business justice needs study to better understand the problems and challenges facing businesses in the United States in order to provide businesses better paths to justice. The goal is to understand how legal problems differ by company size, geography, and industry—so that solutions can be tailored to meet the needs of all. This groundbreaking study is the first of its kind to be conducted in the United States and builds on the IAALS and HiiL US Justice Needs study, which assessed individual justice needs of Americans.
Why are we doing it?
- To develop a greater understanding of the justice needs of businesses in the United States to inform and help target reform efforts.
- To provide courts, legal service providers, and the broader legal community with better data about the justice needs of businesses in our country to ensure those needs are met.
- To inform a more data-driven approach to reform and forward-looking models for businesses.
What do we need from you?
We want to hear from you! We are interviewing business owners, executives, and in-house counsel with knowledge of day-to-day business operations and needs. Interviews will be around 45 minutes, depending on availability.
Based on these interviews, IAALS will publish a final report of its findings regarding businesses’ legal needs, how those legal needs are being resolved, and the gaps identified.
