Alyx Mark is an assistant professor of government at Wesleyan University and an affiliated scholar of the American Bar Foundation and SoDA Labs at Monash University. Her research focuses on how institutions empower and constrain legal elites, such as lawyers, judges, and lawmakers, as well as the consequences of institutional design decisions for access to justice. She is currently engaged in a project supported by the National Science Foundation on state court responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as studies of judicial behavior in state civil courts and of current efforts to reform the regulation of the legal profession.She received her PhD and MA in political science from The George Washington University in 2015, and her BA from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.
