Educating Tomorrow's Lawyers Fellow Discusses the Current State of Legal Education and the Need for Change

Educating Tomorrow's Lawyers Fellow, Professor Michael Madison, has written a blog post examining the state of legal education and emphasizing the need for change. Professor Madison suggests that "[c]hanges in the client-side, demand-driven aspects of law practice and the legal profession are responsible for much of the turmoil in lawyers’ lives of the last five years." He states that law schools therefore need to integrate the client relationship throughout their curriculum to remedy this turmoil and prevent the situation from further escalating. In order to do so, law schools must break the current mold by supporting innovative professors who bear the burden of incorporating this change.
