Justice for All: Read the 2018 IAALS Annual Report

April 4, 2019

“Justice for all.” It is a promise of American democracy and enshrined in our Pledge of Allegiance. And yet, it is not a reality.

IAALS wants to change all of that.

We are proud to present you with our 2018 Annual Report, which highlights our work and accomplishments within this important context.

We recognize that our legal system is complex and, for many, beyond reach. Courts, with their dense rules and processes, were developed in a different era and struggle to adapt to modern expectations. Many litigants are deserting the system for other alternatives—and those who do try to navigate the system often do so without the help of a lawyer, which further compounds their frustrations. And, outdated legal education models fail to put clients at the center of legal practice, and the regulatory framework of the system prevents new legal service offerings from taking hold.

In these places—where real reform is hard but essential—IAALS does its work.

With the help of our dedicated staff, along with our network of partners, donors, consultants, and collaborators nationwide, IAALS is helping to make “justice for all” a reality—for the people, through the courts, and with the legal profession.

You are a part of this important work with us, and your continued support will help ensure that our mission succeeds. There is no other organization doing the work that we do, and the work is needed now more than ever.
