Save the Date for IAALS’ Fourth Civil Justice Reform Summit
On February 25-26, 2016, IAALS will hold its Fourth Civil Justice Reform Summit: Creating the Just, Speedy, and Inexpensive Courts of Tomorrow.
We are on the cusp of important change in our civil justice system. We expect to see the culmination of great efforts toward reform in the next year, with the impending rule amendments expected to go into effect on December 1, 2015, at the federal level and expected recommendations from the Conference of Chief Justices Civil Justice Improvements Committee at the state level.
In addition, IAALS and the ACTL Task Force have published a new report, Reforming our Civil Justice System: A Report on Progress & Promise, which revises the proposed Principles from the 2009 Final Report in light of pilot project experiences and evaluations.
It took much hard work to get this far, but to achieve the full impact of these recommendations and reforms, it ultimately comes down to implementation.
IAALS’ Fourth Civil Justice Reform Summit will provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges of implementing change and chart the next steps for creating the just, speedy, and inexpensive courts of tomorrow.
