Texas: Fliers Used for a Jude’s Reelection Campaign Raise Ethical Concerns
June 4, 2012
The content of fliers used in a trial court judge's reelection campaign raised ethical concerns, leading some to call for an inquiry by the state commission on judicial conduct. The fliers tout recent decisions in which the judge sided with oil drillers against the EPA and feature images of Rush Limbaugh. One of the parties to the litigation referenced in the fliers asked the judge to recuse himself from future proceedings in the case. (Though the judge lost his bid for reelection, he will serve for the remainder of the year.)
