Choosing a law school—or whether to go to law school—can be one of the most important decisions you will make in life. But you are often asked to make that decision without all the information necessary to have an informed process. From 2013 through 2020, IAALS' By the Numbers project offered data-fueled tools to give prospective students access to meaningful, individualized information about the law school options available to them.
- Provide a free, publicly available tool to give prospective students access to meaningful, individualized information about the law school options available to them.
Law Jobs: By the Numbers™ was our interactive online tool that used American Bar Association employment data to give prospective law students, researchers, and media the most transparent and complete law school employment rate information available. It took the mystery out of employment statistics for law school graduates, and let prospective law students make informed decisions when deciding whether to go to law school and, if so, which school to choose.
Until 2020, IAALS provided two separate tools as part of the project:
- A Q&A tool for prospective students
- A calculator tool for researchers and media
